Inverosmil se nos antoja semejante especie, un tratndose de interpretaciones francesas, y por lo que hace nosotros, los castellanos, desde 1428 poseamos una traduccion completa en prosa, que si no es la primera de todas las neo-latinas, como suele afirmarse, lo mnos merece lugar entre las ms vetustas. Compendios italianos y catalanes existian ntes, pero la reproduccion ntegra y ms mnos fiel del texto virgiliano era una verdadera novedad y un importante servicio la causa del Renacimiento y las lenguas vulgares. Cabe la gloria de tal empresa D. Enrique de Aragon, ms generalmente conocido por el ttulo de Marqus de Villena que por el suyo verdadero, de conde de Cangas de{vi} Tineo.
