Wren is in the Mountains she calls The High Place. She frequents there to find time alone to meditate and commune with her Creator. Descending the path back to the clearing leading home, she stumbles upon a vacationer name Drake. Though both have their guard up while engaging in polite banter, they simply dismiss it as a momentary fluke and debunk the chemistry that is occurring between them. He is a vacationer, and she is a local. That alone would complicate the end game. However, it appears fate persistently draws them together. Wren becomes a frequent thought in Drake's head, and he seeks counsel from his father to determine if he should pursue this woman. He approaches it as a welcomed break from his usual itinerary. Drake contemplates if he should bring her into his circle. If things go sour, she could be a source that exposes him and the secret society he works for. He can't resist the pull and takes a chance to get to know her better. Eventually, they develop a relationship, and Hope Ignites between them. The Dance begins! They fall in love and end in marriage. On their honeymoon night, they are ecstatic, and it appears as if they will have a fairytale marriage with the happily ever after stamp on it, but Wren awakes the next morning with a shocking revelation. Her experience as a new bride high plummets to an all-time low. Drake knows his wrongdoing and sorrowfully regrets what he did to her. His superiors intervene, and Drake and Wren journey a difficult road to recovery. Drake is determined to repair what he did to her and find a solution, even if it means he may lose her for good.
