When attractive, but not quite glamorous, Darlene Donahue meets rising star Peter Chandler in 1975 Hollywood, she doesn't believe in happy endings. In her early twenties, she is married, but the husband she pledged to stay with forever has turned into a stranger who prefers the bottle to their marriage bed.
