About the Author
Frazier, Charles: - Charles Frazier est né en 1950 en Caroline-du-Nord, région dans laquelle il vit toujours avec sa famille. Après des études de littérature, il devient professeur à l'université de Caroline-du-Nord, tout en élevant des chevaux. Retour à Cold Montain est inspiré de l'histoire de son arrière-arrière-grand-oncle et a demandé cinq années de recherches sur les traditions régionales, la musique, les contes populaires, les registres militaires et les journaux intimes des sudistes du XIXe siècle.Traduit dans dix-huit pays, ce premier roman a été couronné par le National Book Award 1997, et les droits cinématographiques en ont été acquis par Anthony Minghella (Le Patient anglais).
