In this full-length saga, a wizard has gone rogue; greed turning into the desperate need of wanting more power and control, rising in stature through unscrupulous means. He uses dark forces to capture the magical souls and essence of over one hundred wizards at their annual convocation. The dark wizard uses soul magic to extract the magical properties to gain ultimate power and control over everything and anyone that he so chooses. He ruthlessly has traded his past friendships, trust, and allegiance to those he has known for decades to realize his dark ploy to gain and use the stolen magical power for his own mad purposes.
Three mortals have been enlisted by the Archmage Long Shadow Raven; the only high wizard having escaped unscathed due to his late arrival at the wizards' meeting. With no other wizards of substance to help, he recruits the humans to help find and rescue the captured souls and return them to their bodies, being held in stasis, before their life-forces are extinguished.
The mission success lies in the hands of two teenagers of talent, one with a big ego and one with a rebellious chip on their shoulder, neither with worldly life experience, led by a man of renowned trail-blazing experience, called out of a long self-imposed retirement to give the mission any chance of success.
