About the Author
Frank, Sarah: - Sarah Frank is a teenage writer and poet and the author of BeaLu's One Chance Series. Her first novel, One Chance (BeaLu Books, 2018), was awarded a silver medal in Juvenile Fiction by the Florida Authors & Publishers Association, Inc. She has since published a second book in the series, Two Secrets (BeaLu Books, 2019), with the third installment, Three Quests, forthcoming Winter 2021. Sarah recently collaborated with teen-illustrator Katie Bell on the new picture book Cloudy Days, When Anxiety Hides the Sunshine. The book grew out of a school assignment and from their passion to help others who experience anxiety as they do. In addition to juggling her education and an ambitious portfolio of extracurricular activities, Sarah has spent much of her time in between publications inspiring other young writers to pursue their own literary ambitions through author visits and virtual events. She lives in Tampa, Florida, and attends Howard W. Blake High School of the Arts, where she majors in creative writing.Bell, Katie: - Katie Bell is a teen illustrator from Tampa, Florida where she is in the visual arts program at Howard W. Blake School of the Arts. Katie's favorite mediums are gouache and charcoal and she has won several awards for her work including selection of her artwork in the 2020 NAHS Jurried Exhibition, the 2020 Dali Museum's Student Exhibition, the 2019 Tampa Museum of Art's Student Exhibition, and honorable mention in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. When not working on her art, you can find Katie cheering on her favorite sports teams the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Bears, reading books, or hanging out with her friends. Katie hopes that Cloudy Days, When Anxiety Hides the Sunshine will give kids who suffer with anxiety like she does, a place to understand they are not alone and that anxiety doesn't last forever.Raymo, Tara: - Tara Raymo is a graphic designer and artist in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She loves working on books for children and making them fun and interesting for a kid to pick up. Tara also enjoys all she gets to learn while designing the books. Some of her favorite things to do are reading children's books, such as Harry Potter (She is a BIG Harry Potter Geek) and watching Disney movies. While Tara likes all the fun stuff, she can switch it up to a more professional level, with marketing materials and social media marketing. Tara has been working in children's book publishing for 13 years. Completing tasks such as Book Design and Layout, Photo Research, Art Direction, Board Book Design, Catalogs, Marketing Materials, and Social Media Marketing. Prior to the publishing world, Tara spent 12 years experience in the print industry, with the job function of prepress and design.
