About the Author
Smyth, Elizabeth: - E. Smyth has been drawing for as long as she can remember. She attended Pratt Institute and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. E. Smyth has worked as a portrait artist, newspaper illustrator, plein air artist, and has created album cover art. Dog at Sea is the first children's book she has had the pleasure of illustrating and she is currently at work on a second. Her home is where her heart is, at the tip of Long Island.Seff, Greg: - Greg Seff lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has worked in the wireless communications field for over twenty-five years. When not designing wireless networks, Greg enjoys reading, martial arts training, visiting archaeological sites, motorcycle riding, collecting ancient coins, and writing. Greg and his wife are active in adopting rescue dogs from local shelters. Dog at Sea is Greg's first work of fiction. The idea for Dog at Sea came to Greg from two real life events. In the first, a dog was found by a fisherman, stranded in the open waters of the Long Island Sound. In the second, a dog was discovered by a wind surfer in the San Francisco Bay. In both cases, there were no boats in sight of the dogs, nor land nearby, and it is a mystery how the dogs found themselves lost at sea.
