HARRY THE CAMEL will surely pull on the heart strings of readers as he pines for a life he can never have. Harry lives in the sand dunes of Dubai, and he often watches from a distance as the beautifully sleek race horses at the track run their laps. He laments that his back isn't as smooth as theirs and wonders how much faster he could run without his bulky old hump. As he dreams of the possibilities, Dover the bird swoops in and teases him about his hump, making him feel even worse about how he looks. As he makes his way sadly home he happens upon a little boy named Omar. Harry learns that Omar is lost. Who better than a camel to lead a lost boy out of the desert? In the end, Harry discovers there is nothing better than being yourself and, for the first time, Harry is proud to be a camel.

About the Author
Boehm, DiAnn Floyd: - Diann Floyd Boehm has always enjoyed the art of storytelling, and has now taken her imagination to print so she can share her stories with more children and families around the world. A former classroom teacher, Diann was one of the first educators chosen for Steve Job's Apple Education program in the early 1980s. This was so innovative, there was no degree program and Diann became one of the first self-taught, education technology pioneers who saw the magic of technology as a tool and, working with Apple, began training other teachers and wrote some of the first technology cross-curriculum for teachers and students. This led to her teaching technology to grades 1-8 and to establishing the Texas Capitol Schoolhouse.org, to increase awareness among legislators of the benefits of funding technology in the classroom. Diann is not only an educator but also a wife and mother of three. Her creative flair encompasses the performing arts as well, having performed in musical theatre productions in Dubai produced by Popular Productions out of the UK. Throughout her life, Diann has been involved in various humanitarian projects. She is a member of Bpeace.org and a supporter of Free the Children and Aerobridge, a non-profit organization that assists in disaster relief. Her community involvement has given her an insight to the importance of people working together to help others develop skills needed to create a sustainable life for themselves and their families. Diann was born in Tulsa, OK but grew up in Texas with five brothers. She has traveled extensively to many parts of the world but lives part time in Dubai with her husband. She has a Bachelor of Education from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and has taught elementary school both overseas and stateside.
