Due to our current wars, we have more mothers leaving their children behind for six to thirteen months at a time. We often hear of all the devoted fathers, sons, and brothers who we call hero, but we do not hear much about the mothers who selflessly serves their country while dealing with the anguish of being separated from their children. This story shows how family has a key support role while Mommy is deployed. Mommy Wears A Uniform is a salute to all the women, who are daughters, wives, sisters, mothers, and HEROS.

About the Author
I am a daughter, sister, teacher, friend, wife, Marine, and most importantly a mother. I am very proud to be a United States Marine. I have gladly served my country for 12 years. The core values that Marines live by has proven itself to be a great guide for not just myself and other Marines, but have great value for children. My dream has always been to be an advocate for children, with the desire to be a family counselor once retired from the Marine Corps. I have no technical training in writing. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz; and a Masters of Arts degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma. Wanting the best for my daughters, I was inspired to take a leap of faith and publish books that address issues that children are facing. In my hope to set a strong example for my daughters I have found another way to express my passion for the well being of children through writing.
