Michael Olivier was invited by the Voyager Wine Estate in Western Australia to prepare a 'Cape Buffet' for the duration of the Margaret River November Wine Festival. He and his wife, Madeleine, researched, deconstructed, and rebuilt the recipes, leaving them with a collection of essentially Cape Dishes, which he wanted to publish. Michael and Roelien Immelman, a very talented illustrative designer, agreed to go in a partnership on Friends. Food. Flavour., and including the recipes of friends, this book was born. The dishes are eclectic with Roelien's superb illustrations and Mike Robinson's sensitive photography.

Olivier, Michael: - Michael Olivier is a well-known South African wine and food commentator. As a young aspiring chef, he laid a solid foundation for his career at Le Cordon Bleu London, the culinary arts institute. Over the next 40 years, he ran several restaurants that achieved National Awards. He also held a series of high-profile hospitality management posts, including Manager at Lanzerac Hotel in Stellenbosch, PR Manager for Boschendal Wine Estate and ran three successful restaurants in the Cape, one of which, Parks, was a top national restaurant. A lifetime devoted to the promotion and appreciation of the South African wine and food industry has earned Michael many accolades, including the Lannice Snyman Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 Eat Out Awards. He has authored five books, one of them as co-author on a book on Portuguese wines, and he continues to be prolific, informative, and entertaining on his wine and food website, www.michaelolivier.co.zaImmelman, Roelien: - Roelien Immelman holds a degree in Information Design from the University of Pretoria. Her first major position was in London, where she illustrated for Michiko Koshino, a prominent Japanese fashion brand. After a brief stint as layout designer for a Cape Town-based publisher, a hankering after the unknown first led her to the Far East, and she has been freelancing and exploring the world ever since. Her work has been exhibited in South Africa and Taiwan. A recent example of her distinctive style of food illustration is to be found in Tuistafel by well-known South African home cook, Errieda du Toit. Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
Shipping
