Several of his books focus on birds, as does Enchanting Tales. Jim lives in Orinda, California, a suburb of San Francisco. He is a member of the Golden Gate Birding Alliance, has for years led birders during the annual Christmas Bird Count sponsored by Golden Gate and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and spends much of his free time in the hills and Bayshore areas near his home looking for birds.As a further side light, Jim has sung with several choirs in the East Bay area.Jim's previous books have focused on his travels and birding activities. The idea of writing a children's book did not come to light until he began to make up stories for two of his grandchildren. They proved to be interesting and so this book became a reality.\u003cb\u003e\u003ci\u003eGilmore, Michael:\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/b\u003e - Michael Gilmore grew up and has lived most of his adult life in Orinda, California. He has always loved the outdoors, the open spaces and rolling hills of the East Bay. Early on he discovered an artistic talent which he developed through sketching the world around him. In his career as a general contractor and construction litigation expert, Mike utilized his ability to use graphic representations to tell stories. His skills were important in preparing trial exhibits and technical drawings, and they were sought after even by opposing sides. In retirement on his travels throughout the U.S. and Europe, Mike could often be found sketching to chronicle his experiences. He has mentored his five grandchildren on the value of keeping a sketch book to journal their adventures.
