Mit Lnnrotin kirjeisiin tulee, on suomennoksessakin jonkun verran noudatettu alkuperist lauserakennusta. Lnnrothan oli suomalainen, joka vaivaloisesti oli oppinut ruotsia. Hnen yksinkertainen, hyvntahtoinen ja luonteenomainen kirjoitustapansa on alkuperisess muodossaan rakkain hnen kansalaisilleen. Jos lukija jonkun kerran hymyileekin hnen yksinkertaisia kirjeitn lukiessaan, on tm hymy hyv ja sydnt lmmittv. Nojautuen J.V. Snellmanin sanoihin, joita olen mottona kyttnyt, olen luullut, ett vhptisemmtkin muistot, kun ne Lnnrotia koskevat, arvelematta ovat tulevaisuudelle sstettvt.
