About the Author
Drelich, Julia: - An accountant and part-time illustratorDressler, Brenda J.: - Brenda Dressler, PhD, a Human Sexuality and HIV/AIDs Prevention Educator, is a visiting professor and consultant at Touro College in New York City. She is the author of seven HIV/AIDS prevention education curricula, which are used in schools in forty-eight states. Dr. Dressler was awarded ten research grants and crafted numerous research articles. She conducted workshops on child sexual abuse prevention at the Hebrew University in Israel and on HIV/AIDS prevention education at Kampala University and Treatment Centers in Uganda. She is listed in Who's Who and received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement award in 2019 for outstanding contributions to her profession. At New York University, Dr. Dressler studied human sexuality and earned a doctorate in Health Education in 1986. In 1987, she was certified by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and currently maintains membership in this organization. In 1989, Dr. Dressler was certified by the American Board of Sexology and also became a certified health education specialist (CHES). For the past 50 years, Dr. Dressler has taught sexuality education to students in middle school, high school, college, and universities in New York. As Comprehensive Health Coordinator of Queens, she trained New York City public school administrators and faculty how to teach sex education. She also taught them how to identify and report suspected child abuse, and educated them about child sexual abuse prevention, sexuality and disability, and HIV/AIDS prevention, including the Condom Availability Program.
