This book, THE GOLDEN PEACOCK: THE VOICE OF THE YIDDISH WRITER Bilingual, accompanies a spoken word recording of 12 Yiddish writers reading from their works, both poetry and prose, followed by readings of English translations. It is a unique collection of Yiddish literature and contains the text of each of the works and the English translation, a biography of each writer in English and Yiddish as well as notes in English about each selection. The writers featured are Celia Dropkin, Yankev Glatshteyn, Rokhl Korn, Aron Glanz-Leyeles, H. Leivick, Kadya Molodowsky, Itzik Manger, Avrom Sutzkever, Sholem-Aleichem, Beyle Schaechter-Gottesman, Yekhiel Shraibman and Elie Wiesel.

The English is read by Sheva Zucker and Trudie Kessler, Professor Emeritus of Voice and Acting at The Theatre School/DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.

The recording is available either in 2 CDs or as a digital download.

The CDs accompany the book only if purchased directly from the editor/producer and may be purchased separately from her. A digital download is available after purchasing the book. Contact sczucker@aol.com.
