The Kooikerhondje is a small bred of Spaniel-type dog that originates from the Netherlands. The breed was officially recognized by the Dutch Kennel Club in 1971, and has since been imported to many other countries including Canada and the United States of America. The Kooikerhondje has a bright orange and white coat with a heavily plumed white tail, which the breed wags to entice ducks to follow it into the caged canals. The temperament of dogs is normally affected by the following factors: individual personality, heredity, training and socialization.
