A collection of vintage posters and poster art from the top 25 films of glamour star Lana Turner, best known for her films, The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946), The Bad and the Beautiful (1952) and Peyton Place (1957) and for her "Sweater Girl" films which were favorite pinups of World War II Gis. Included in this mini-book are full-sized posters and poster art on 8 x 10 pages presented in descending order, based on their IMDb (Internet Movie Database) Rating. Films included are: A Life of Her Own (1950), Bachelor in Paradise (1961), Cass Timberlane (1947), Dancing Co-Ed (1939), Diane (1956), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941), Dramatic School (1938), Flame and the Flesh (1954), Green Dolphin Street (1947), Homecoming (1948), Honky Tonk (1941), Imitation of Life (1959), Johnny Eager (1941), Keep Your Powder Dry (1945), Madame X (1966), Peyton Place (1957), Portrait in Black (1960), Slightly Dangerous (1943), The Bad and the Beautiful (1952), The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946), The Sea Chase (1955), The Three Musketeers (1948), These Glamour Girls (1939), Week-End at the Waldorf (1945) and Ziegfeld Girl (1941). During a 43-year career, beginning in 1937, Turner made more than 50 films. As the story goes, she was "discovered" while sipping a Coke at Los Angeles cafe a diner counter. By the early 1940s, she was a leading actress, appearing in Johnny Eager (1941), Honky Tonk (1941), Ziegfeld Girl (1941), and Somewhere I'll Find You (1942). Through the 1950s her popularity continued, with her role in Peyton Place (1957) earning her a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actress. (Note: Several films in Turner's original IMDb top 25 films listing are not included in this book because her roles were either small, uncredited or she did not receive credit on promotional posters.
