About the Author

Stephen M. Cohen is a published writer in the areas of chemistry, chemical history, chemical literature in Yiddish, and genealogy. He is coauthor of two other books, one on electrochemistry and one on genealogy, with a graphic history of chemistry forthcoming. Cohen is also a member of the Board of the Royal Society of Chemistry. In his spare time, he researches his genealogy, does professional calligraphy, and has written many choral arrangements, two of which have been published.

For many years, she wrote articles of all kinds--travel and scientific--alongside Paul S. Cohen. Together, they published the first edition of America's Scientific Treasures, travel articles for the Journal of College Science Teaching and the National Science Teaching Association, and several articles for the American Chemical Society's Journal of Chemical Education and The College of New Jersey Magazine.
