About the Author
Brought up on a typical traditional farm, James McAllen helped his dad and grandfather till the dirt and plant crops, then harvest them until he graduated high school. In college he studied the seven best techniques for gardening. Having earned a double major in Horticulture and writing from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, James worked on other people's farms, implementing whichever one of the seven techniques for gardening the farms owners selected. He saved his money until he had enough to buy a farm of his own. Using raised beds, vertical gardening and companion planting whenever possible in his garden, James has consistently had larger crop productivity for his effort then all the farmers he knows. During the day James works his farm, including his large garden, and at night he keeps a journal of his gardening efforts. He began writing a book, Gardening Seven Best Methods: Select the Right Type for Your Home, published that book, then started and completed this one, Companion Planting for Beginners and Intermediate: Secrets to Greatly Increasing Your Crops: Vegetables, Fruits and Herbs; Soil Improvement and Pest Control. James plans to write more books on Gardening in the near future so keep your eyes open for them, too.
