About the Author
Jesse Doan started participating in math competitions in sixth grade. He was a United States of America Math Olympiad (USAMO) Qualifier (2017) and a United States of America Junior Math Olympiad (USAMO) Qualifier (2015). He finished first place individual in Hawaii for the American Invitational Mathematical Examination (AIME) (2015, 2017). He was awarded first place individual in Hawaii for the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) (2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). He is a MATHCOUNTS Nationals Alumnus (2012, 2013). He captured first place individual in Hawaii for the MATHCOUNTS State Competition (2013). In addition, Jesse earned perfect scores on the math section of the SAT and the PSAT. As an eighth grader, he scored a perfect 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam. He is from the island of Maui, Hawaii and will be attending Stanford University in the fall of 2017.
