Freeing Farida chronicles the brave rescue of a young girl from human trafficking in a North Atlanta suburb and the way out of no way persistence of Dotun Dawodu the woman who risked it all to save her. Riveting, honest and heartfelt, Freeing Farida is a poignant reminder that love in its purest form is the greatest act of sacrifice.

Dotun Dawodu was a natural born nurturer. After attaining her collegiate degree and teaching in London for several years she became and wife and mother, directing her focus towards teaching her children about God's grace and mercy. Over the years, Dotun overcame bouts with depression to become a small business owner and community servant to those in need. After witnessing the birth of her grandchildren and several years of practicing faith within a solid church community, Dotun heard the voice of the Lord in the early hours of the morning commanding her to find and save a young life endangered.

The chronicling of Freeing Farida was birthed when Dotun was going through the difficult time of caring for her youngest granddaughter who was recovering from a Bone Marrow Transplant, to cure her Sickle Cell Disease. The long days and sleepless nights allowed her to recount the series of events and commit them to paper. Today, Dotun is a 70 year old, vibrant being beaming with joy, who currently resides with her older daughter and her lovely family, doing what she loves best, nurturing. She finds absolute joy in cooking, baking, and making jewelry to sell for peanuts, but more often than not finds herself giving them away as gifts.
