RELEVANT HISTORICAL BACKGROUND VIGNETTES

Here are the continuing tales of our imaginary Frére Gerard and Tante Suzanne as they create and develop today's world famous New Orleans Creole Cuisine. Madame Langlois' Legacy thoroughly revises and updates its predecessor The Petticoat Rebellion. Many new chapters introduce dozens of new recipes and historical vignettes. It carries the story forward to 1803 and takes a bit beyond. So brew yourself up a pot of good New Orleans chicory coffee and plan a few historical meals for your family of the new century.

About the Author
Laiche, Jon G.: - Jon (aka Jerry) Laiche retired from teaching History, Religious Studies and Computer Studies in 2010. Since then, he has been reading and writing history. In 2014, he published a culinary history of colonial New Orleans, The Petticoat Rebellion providing an insight into the origins of Creole Cuisine embedded in a retelling of the history of the founding of the city and the Louisiana colony. Madame Langlois' Legacy is the continuation and completion of that work.
