Miriam von Nordheim-Diehl behandelt das "Korach-Problem" des Alten Testaments. Als das "Korach-Problem" lasst sich folgende Frage beschreiben: Wie kann es sein, dass - wie Num 16f. berichtet - ein Levit mit Namen Korach einen Aufstand gegen Mose und Aaron anfuhrte, er als Strafe mitsamt allen, die zu ihm gehorten, vom Erdboden verschluckt wurde, und trotzdem seine Nachkommen, die Sohne Korachs, als Psalmendichter Beruhmtheit erlangten? Die Sohne Korachs werden gemass den Psalm-Uberschriften als Verfasser oder zumindest Sammler und Herausgeber der sogenannten Korachpsalmen angegeben - Psalmen, die zum Teil eine ausgepragte Zionstheologie enthalten (so Ps 46 und 48). Aber nicht nur das verwundert. Daruber hinaus stellen die Korachiter fur die Verfasser der Chronik eine elementare Stutze des Tempelpersonals dar. Der Chronik zufolge waren die Korachiter nicht bloss Leviten, sondern sie waren beruhmte Sanger und Torwachter und kampften sogar als Helden an der Seite Davids. Historisch gesehen ware eine solche Karriere fur die Nachkommen eines Aufruhrers, eines Rebellen gegen Mose, undenkbar.
