In the year 1636, the Indians of Block Island (Manisseans) are experiencing more contact with European Traders. Some have traded in bad faith angering the Indians. Emboldened by their victory over the Mohegans a group of Manisseans, led by the hotheaded Indian Audsah, board John Oldham's ship seeking retribution. The young Indian Asesakes tries to intervene but the exchange quickly turns violent.Fellow Englishman, Captain John Gallop, sailing nearby comes to Oldham's aid. He and his crew of teenage men fight off the Indians but it is too late. Oldham has been murdered and his goods stolen. Gallop reports the incident to the Massachusetts Bay authorities. Little did the Manissean tribe know of the vast consequences of Audsah's actions to their tribe, to their Island and to the Indian nations of New England.
