Марк Штейнберг (23 августа 1927 - 12 декабря 2020) родился в Умани (Украина). В эвакуации работал на военном заводе. В 1945 г. призван в Советскую Армию. Окончил военное училище в 1948 г. Кадровый офицер инженерных войск. В 1982 г. уволен в запас в звании полковника.

С 1983 штатный сотрудник журналов Ташкента. Публиковался также в центральной печати СССР.

В 1991 эмигрировал в США и в дальнейшем проживал в Нью-Йорке. С июля 1991 г. - военный обозреватель русскоязычных американский СМИ. Опубликовал более 1500 материалов военно-стратегического, военно-технического и военно-исторического плана в русскоязычной прессе США, России, Израиля и других стран. В 1996 г. опубликована его монография Евреи в войнах тысячелетий - первая и пока единственная попытку изложить в одном томе трехтысячелетнюю военную историю еврейского народа. Книга выдержала пять изданий в США (1996 - 2001) и три издания в Москве (2004 -2008) - издательство Мосты Культуры (Гешарим Иерусалим).
