Beautifully illustrated by Lorna Bennett, it also chronicles the many legends surrounding the event including tales of the afterlife from the Inuit, a European and Mi'kmaq fairy tale and even a story from the ancient Romans on what an Aurora could possibly mean. These tales and more make this a one-of-a-kind book on this incredible phenomenon in the Canadian sky.

As a child, Joan Marie Galat spent hours gazing up at the night sky from snow forts and through car windows on long road trips. She shares her love of the stars in the Dot to Dot in the Sky series, which combines the science of the night sky with the ancient myths that give the constellations and planets their names.

Lorna Bennett attended the Fine Arts/Arts programs at Grant MacEwan College and The University of Alberta. Lorna has worked as a writer and as an animator in traditional and digital animation with an Edmonton multimedia group; projects include work for the National Film Board and Royal Provincial Museum's Wild Alberta permanent exhibit multimedia. Lorna has held solo exhibitions of original oil paintings at the Art Gallery of Alberta (formerly the Edmonton Art Gallery), the Royal Alberta Museum, and major libraries in Edmonton and Calgary.
