About the Author

Adrianna M. Santos (she/her/ella) is an associate professor of English at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Santos has published in the journals of Aztlán, Chicana/Latina Studies, Journal of Latina Critical Feminism, and Shakespeare Bulletin with chapters in EL MUNDO ZURDO (Aunt Lute 2015), Teaching Mexicana and Chicana Writers of the Twentieth Century (MLA 2020), Nerds Goths, Geeks, and Freaks: Outsiders in Chicanx / Latinx Young Adult Literature (Mississippi 2020), and Shakespeare and Latinidad (Edinburgh 2021). She is coeditor of The Bard in the Borderlands: An Anthology of Shakespeare Appropriations en La Frontera.

Norma E. Cantú is the Norine R. and T. Frank Murchison Distinguished Professor of the Humanities at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She is the founder and director of the Society for the Study of Gloria Anzaldúa, and organized El Mundo Zurdo, a gathering of Anzaldúistas from 2007-2019. Her most recent publications include a novel, Cabañuelas, and four anthologies: Teaching Gloria E. Anzaldúa: Pedagogies and Practices for our Classrooms and our Communities; Mexicana Fashions: Politics, Self- Adornment, and Identity Construction; Entre Guadalupe y Malinche: Tejanas in Literature and Art; and Meditación Fronteriza: Poems of Love, Life, and Labor.

Rita E. Urquijo-Ruiz (she/her/ella) is a Mexicana/Chicana queer educator, writer, activist, and performer born in Sonora, Mexico, and raised in Southern California. She is a professor of Spanish and Chicanx/Latinx cultural and LGBTQ+ studies. Her academic interests are Mexican, Chicanx, and Latinx literatures and cultures, gender and sexuality, as well as theater and performance studies. As a daughter of the Mexico-US borderlands, her approach to teaching and writing is interdisciplinary by nature. Her work centers the stories of socially and economically marginalized communities in these two bordering countries.
