ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

He can't stop killing. You won't be able to stop reading.

"From Barcelona, Toni Hill has reinvented thriller." --El País

A series of brutal murders baffle the police.

The bodies show a strange mark on the back of their necks.

And next to them there is always a note with an enigmatic message: SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT.

Even though it seems impossible, a serial killer is executing his victims by garotte, the same instrument used by executioners centuries before--and considered the cruelest killing machine ever built.

Why does he resort to such a gruesome method? What do the dead have in common? Why is he choosing special locations around Barcelona to dump the bodies, as if the city was an important part of his message?

When Doctor Lena Mayoral, a prestigious criminologist with a turbulent past, is commissioned to dive into the psychopath's mind, she can't imagine how complicated the investigation will become, nor the dangers she will face. While the number of victims increases, and under a mounting pressure from the media, Lena will become obsessed with a killer that seems to be playing against her in a game of life and death.
