MacKay, Jenny: - Jenny Mackay started working on Lexy and Bruce: The Love Letters through a creative writing course with the University of British Columbia's Extended Learning program. Soon, this informal project became a way to deepen her family connection and give a voice to Lexy and Bruce's special bond.

Jenny lives in Vancouver, BC, with her partner, Mike. Their home is in the West End of the city, just two blocks from the beach where Lexy and Bruce had some of their favourite adventures. After losing Lexy to cancer in 2020, Jenny and Mike were able to open their hearts to another senior rescue pitbull named Caper.
