Byrd, Dathan: - Dr. Byrd enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1998 as an Infantry Marine. He served with the 2d Battalion, 6th Marines; 3d Battalion, 5th Marines; and 1st and 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalions.
