Sandra Dunagan Deal (1942-2022) was the daughter of educators and taught for many years in the public schools of Georgia.As First Lady of Georgia for eight years, she made literacy her primary focus. She impressed upon children thatliteracy opened the doors of imagination, comprehension, and a future full of possibilities.
