He is the author of numerous books on medieval beliefs and magic, including Tales of Witchcraft and Wonder, The Tradition of Household Spirits, Demons and Spirits of the Land, and Encyclopedia of Norse and Germanic Folklore, Mythology, and Magic. He lives in Paris.
