Candice Knight, PhD, EdD, APN, PMHCNS-BC, PMHNP-BC, is an associate professor and director of the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at New York University College of Nursing in New York City, New York. She is a licensed clinical psychologist, a psychiatric nurse clinical specialist, a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, and co-owner of large private practice that works with clients across the life span. Dr. Knight is a certified Gestalt therapist who practices psychotherapy from a humanistic-existential framework. Whether providing psychotherapy or prescribing medications, she believes in the primacy of the therapeutic relationship and understanding her clients from an in-depth, phenomenological perspective. Dr. Knight is a well-known regional and national speaker on many diverse topics related to psychotherapy.
