E.A.T. An unconventional decade in the life of a cancer patient

Bero purchased 60 acres to forage and become a subsistence farmer, and seven years later, her idyllic rural lifestyle was turned upside down. In 2005, she was diagnosed with stage IV inflammatory breast cancer and in 2006 a high-grade tumor in her head and neck. With children aged two and seven, three dogs and a barn full of animals, she white knuckled her way through toxic treatments and severe side-effects to become a powerful self-advocate with a dedicated trust in her innate abilities to complete her healing outside of the protocol box.

Bero's memoir is a transparent, honest, and relatable account of battling cancer through the prism of healing. Her genuine optimism and passion for life is contagious in this candid and deeply human story that speaks straight to the heart, providing insight into how she created her own integrative healing protocol. Bero's case piqued the interest of Harvard University's NEER study, looking to understand individuals with unexpected success battling cancer.
