Ces 130.000 ecclsiastiques possdaient, la veille de la Rvolution, un tiers de la fortune de la France. Dans son rapport au Comit ecclsiastique, le constituant Treilhard value 4 milliards les biens du clerg; et ce chiffre na rien dexagr.
