Even for Christians, questions arise about appropriate roles of women as described in the Bible: for example, Wives be subordinate to your husbands (Col 3:18) and women should keep silent in the churches, for they are not allowed to speak (1 Cor 14:34). Commands such as Slaves, be obedient to your human masters (Eph 6:5) or Call no one on earth your father (Matt 23:9) can be challenging.
