About the Author

Jim Fanning is an internationally published author and Disney historian. A leading authority on Walt Disney and his legacy, Fanning has written on all aspects of Disney, including animation, live-action, television, theme parks and Imagineering, and Walt Disney, his creative colleagues, and those who carry on his legacy, for books, magazines, online sites, and documentaries. In addition to historical works, Fanning has written storybooks, comic books, audio productions, educational media, and other works for Disney and its licensees.

Andreas Deja was 10 years old when he first applied for a job as a Disney animator. The Walt Disney Studios wrote back, saying they had no openings but were always on the lookout for new talent. At 20, he applied again and was accepted. This launched a long and successful career with Disney. In 2006, Deja received the Winsor McCay Award for outstanding contribution to the art of animation, and in 2015, he was named a Disney Legend by the Walt Disney Company. Presently, Deja is working on his own independent animated short films and is actively involved in his animation-related blog, Deja View.
