    About the Author

    Dr. Nabil Mohammed is a postdoctoral research fellow at Monash University. His Ph.D. degree was in power electronics, Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. In Summer 2019, he was a Visiting Researcher with the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University, Denmark. His research interests include power electronics converters, microgrids, smart grids, energy storage systems, adaptive control, system identification, and the PLC and SCADA applications to energy storage systems. Nabil has also performed more than 130 reviews for high prestigious journals and conferences in the field of Electrical Power Engineering including IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electornics, and Elsevier Journal of Computers & Electrical Engineering. Nabil won the national poster competition organized by "The Electric Energy Society of Australia (EESA)" in 2019, and the national student poster competition organized by the "Energy Networks Australia EN2020", 2020. Also, he received the "postgraduate students award for the year of 2019" for his contributions to the IEEE NSW Joint Chapter PELS/IES/IAS. Nabil is a member of Electric Energy Society of Australia (EESA), IEEE Power & Energy Society, IEEE Power Electronics Society, IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, and IEEE Young Professionals. Nabil has served as a member of the Executive Committee for several organizations/societies including EESA- New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory Chapter (2020-2021), IEEE NSW Joint Chapter PELS/ IES/IAS (2019- 2021), IEEE NSW Power and Energy (2020- 2021), IEEE NSW Women in Engineering (2019- 2020), IEEE Student Chapter at Macquarie University - NSW (2018- 2020).

    Prof. Hassan Haes Alhelou is a Senior Member of IEEE. He is with the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, Monash University, Clayton, VIC 3800, Australia. At the same time, He is a Professor and faculty member at Tishreen University in Syria, and a consultant with Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Oman. Previously, He was with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin 4, Ireland between 2020-21, and with Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Iran. He completed his B.Sc. from Tishreen University in 2011, M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran all with honors. He was included in the 2018 & 2019 Publons and Web of Science (WoS) list of the top 1% best reviewer and researchers in the field of engineering and cross-fields over the world. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Reviewer Award from many journals, e.g., Energy Conversion and Management (ECM), ISA Transactions, and Applied Energy. He was the recipient of the best young researcher in the Arab Student Forum Creative among 61 researchers from 16 countries at Alexandria University, Egypt, 2011. He also received the Excellent Paper Award 2021/2022 from IEEE CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems (SCI IF: 3.938; Q1). He has published more than 200 research papers in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. His research papers received 2550 citations with H-index of 26 and i-index of 56. He authored/edited 15 books published in reputed publishers such as Springer, IET, Wiley, Elsevier, and Taylor & Francis. He serves as an editor in a number of prestigious journals such as IEEE Systems Journal, Computers and Electrical Engineering (CAEE-Elsevier), IET Journal of Engineering, and Smart Cities. He has also performed more than 800 reviews for high prestigious journals, including IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, Energy Conversion and Management, Applied Energy, International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems. He has participated in more than 15 international industrial projects over the globe. His major research interests are Renewable energy systems, Power systems, Power System Security, Power system dynamics, Power System Cybersecurity, Power system operation, control, Dynamic state estimation, Frequency control, Smart grids, Micro-grids, Demand response, and Load shedding.

    Prof. Behrooz Bahrani is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of the Grid Innovation Hub at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He received the B.Sc. degree from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, the M.Sc. degree from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, and the PhD degree from the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland, all in electrical engineering, in 2006, 2008, and 2012, respectively. From September 2012 to September 2015, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at EPFL, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA, and the Technical University of Munich, Munich, Germany. His research interests include control of power electronic converters, their applications in power systems, and grid integration of renewable energy resources.
