With children and grandchildren of her own, decades of childrens books have inspired her art and writing. Growing up in Texas, Ramona read everything from the little Golden books, joke books, the classics, to mysteries. Going to the library meant transporting to different places and times all by turning the page. After high school, Ramona moved to California and studied a bit of everything at college-- but stayed close to her first loves of art and writing. Her graphic design degree and lots of work in the field helped prepare her for creating childrens books. Now, as a South Arkansas author and illustrator who reads with her grandkids, Ramona sees the power that books possess.
