Und da meine arme, kleine Seele so leer und still und wartend lag, schrieben die Geister des Sees und der Berge ihre schnen khnen Taten auf sie. Die starren Wnde und Flhen sprachen trotzig und ehrfrchtig von Zeiten, deren Shne sie sind und deren Wundmale sie tragen. Sie sprachen von damals, da die Erde barst und sich bog und aus ihrem gequlten Leibe in sthnender Werdenot Gipfel und Grate hervortrieb. Felsberge drngten sich brllend und krachend empor, bis sie ziellos vergipfelnd knickten, Zwillingsberge rangen in verzweifelter Not um Raum, bis einer siegte und stieg und den Bruder beiseite warf und zerbrach.
