Translated from the original Italian, this hauntingly illustrated comic tells the story of the Italian Jewish chemist who survived the camps at Auschwitz against all odds. Matteo Mastragostino draws on historical research, interviews, and Levi's own landmark books to piece together a fictionalized yet profoundly intimate portrait of a courageous figure.

In the scene that emerges, Levi visits a group of schoolchildren to retell his life story and keep the memory of the Holocaust alive, answering innocent questions with hard truths. Matteo Mastragostino is a writer and screenwriter. After receiving a degree in industrial design at the Politecnico of Milan, Mastragostino decided to exploit his creativity in different sectors, ranging from graphic design to creative writing to freelance collaborations with several national agencies. For several years he has written in print and online newspapers, dealing with news articles, sports and fashion. Primo Levi is his debut publication.

Alessandro Ranghiasci studies at the Roman School of Comics and the Faculty of Archaeology at the Sapienza University of Rome. He has worked as a storyboard artist in cinema and advertising. Primo Levi is his debut as a comic book artist.

Alberto Toscano is Reader in Critical Theory and Co-Director of the Centre for Philosophy and Critical Theory at Goldsmiths, University of London. He is the author of The Theatre of Production: Philosophy and Individuation Between Kant and Deleuze (2006), Fanaticism: On the Uses of an Idea (2010; 2017, 2nd ed.), (with Jeff Kinkle) Cartographies of the Absolute (2015), and the translator of several works by Alain Badiou, Toni Negri, Furio Jesi and Franco Fortini. He is an editor of the journal Historical Materialism and editor of The Italian List for Seagull Books.
