Sus intereses periodísticos son la política y la cultura pop desde un punto de vista feminista. Ha sido reconocida por su trabajo con el premio de periodismo Luise-Büchner.

Julia Bernhard es ilustradora y dibujante de cómics. Vive y trabaja en Berlín junto a su asistenta personal, Pina Bausch, que además es su perro.
