Donna is a successful wedding planner in St. Louis. When her lifelong best friend, Cameron, meets Andie, he has finally met the woman he will marry. Donna is thrilled that Cameron and Andie have found each other. She wishes she could be as lucky. Donna's been planning her own wedding since she was six years old. All she's missing is the guy.

As Cameron and Andie get serious, falling deeper in love, Donna is working around the country, planning destination weddings. Exhausted, she returns to St. Louis to plan Cameron's surprise engagement to Andie. Dealing with Andie's prickly, distant mother, Caroline, and loving but meticulous father, Henry, is a chore for Donna, but she's dealt with worse.
