Dallas has always been an avid reader, especially about history, the origins of civilizations and ethnic groups, slavery, abolitionism, and religion. He has been especially interested in Uncle Tom's Cabin since his first reading at age 12 and researched the book and the historical era in great detail. Dallas is locally involved in community service efforts, especially youth mentoring, sports programs, and church camps. He has held offices for the local and state-level Republican Party. He is a proud father of two sons and a granddaughter.
