An ECPA 2023 & 2024 Christmas Bestseller!

All Creation Waits: The Advent Mystery of New Beginnings invites you to rediscover the beauty and depth of the Advent season through the eyes of the natural world. This exquisite book offers 25 daily reflections, each revealing the miraculous ways northern hemisphere animals adapt to the dark and cold of winter. With poetic descriptions and profound insights, it unveils the timeless truth of Advent: The dark is not an end but the way a new beginning comes.

Each reflection, paired with stunning, hand-carved woodcut illustrations, draws readers of all ages into the rhythms of creation. From the honeybee to the porcupine, every creature becomes a living metaphor of hope, resilience, and trust in the process of transformation. Whether read aloud as a family tradition or treasured individually, this book speaks to the yearning for stillness and meaning in the often frantic holiday season.

Perfect for anyone longing to escape consumerism and embrace the sacred mysteries of Advent, All Creation Waits reminds us that we are part of a creation that "waits in eager expectation." This devotional is not just a book but an invitation--to pause, reflect, and marvel at the eternal lessons found in the natural world.

Step into the quiet wisdom of winter and let this masterpiece illuminate your Advent journey. A timeless gift for every season, All Creation Waits is a treasure that will enrich hearts and homes for years to come.

About the Author
Gayle Boss writes from West Michigan, where she was born and raised. Her lifelong love of animals and her immersion in spiritual texts and practices have melded in poems and essays that explore how relationships with animals specifically, and an attentive presence in the natural world generally, restore us to our deepest selves. Also the author of Wild Hope: Stories for Lent from the Vanishing, Gayle lives with her husband and Welsh corgi rescue.

"Writing about animals and the human-animal bond is the writing that enthralls me. I've found it true, what the thirteenth-century mystic Meister Eckhart said: 'God is equally near in all creatures.' Many human creatures and two corgis have loved me and encouraged my work. Beyond them, the creatures and landscapes of Michigan's west coast, often wounded, open to me wonder after wonder." -- Gayle Boss
