At God's call, the prophet Amos leaves his southern Judah farmstead for northern Israel's corrupt cities. This study into the life and times of Amos will mirror back into our modern world, nation and especially the Christian faith today. Our redneck prophet declared "in your face" consequences for social sins infecting societies both ancient and contemporary. Amos confronts racial hatred, slavery, wealth inequality, political corruption, judicial injustice and social prejudice. This prophet will either prescribe God's cure or proclaim judgement on corrupt social ills. The book tackles the legendary complex theology, language and history of Minor Prophets converting them into chewable bites for the average church Bible reader. Charles Rushing escaped graduate school as an atheistic research biologist. After discovering Jesus Christ, he entered seminary believing he had a future in academia. Instead, Charles and his wife, Diana, spent 40 years as missionary church planters. Charles retired in 2015 when diagnosed with Parkinson's disease while serving as an International Church pastor and Principal of Xining International Academy in Qinghai Province, China.
