About the Author
Kamernebti Mer Amon born in Brooklyn, presently a resident of Queens. She was the Literary Director of the Center of Culture, The Afrikan Poetry Theatre for eight years. As an assistant to the Director organized tributes for Ruby Dee, Sonia Sanchez, Haki Madhubuti, and Amiri Baraka. She is founder of Seshata, Inc., a cultural organization that showcased talented poets and performing artists. Also a member of the Drum Word Literary Guild. She has been writing since she was a child and authored a 70-paged children's story at the age of 12. She has performed at many venues, The Afrikan Poetry Theatre, The New York Historical Society, The St. Marks Poetry Project, Savacou Gallery, When Worlds Collide, Bethany Baptist Church, Schomberg Library to name a few. Her poetry has appeared in African Voices, Essence, and Platitude.
