Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Brontë were born in Yorkshire between 1816 and 1820. They wrote and shared stories from a young age, and in 1847, Charlotte's Jane Eyre and Emily's Wuthering Heights were both published. All three also worked as governesses and teachers, experiences that inspired Anne's The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (1848) and Charlotte's Villette (1853). They died in their twenties and thirties, leaving their father the only surviving family member. Coralie Bickford-Smith (cover design) is an award-winning designer at Penguin Books (U.K.), where she has created several highly acclaimed series designs. She is also the author of The Fox and the Star, the 2015 Waterstones Book of the Year. She studied typography at Reading University and lives in London.

Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
