The Chlamydomonas Sourcebook, Third Edition, Volume Two: Organellar and Metabolic Processes has been fully revised and updated to include a wealth of new resources for the Chlamydomonas community. Long known for its comprehensive insights into this highly multidisciplinary topic, this edition includes new views on Chlamydomonas branched electron transfer pathways in photosynthesis, the organization of pyrenoids and CO2 concentration mechanisms, and the fermentative-aspects of dark metabolism. Further, the book covers Chlamydomonas and its use in microalgae biotechnology.

In addition to updates to previous editions, this book presents the latest in research and best practices, thus making it a must-have resource for those working with the Chlamydomonas organism.

About the Author
Grossman, Arthur: - Arthur R.Grossman is a biologist whose research ranges across the fields of plant biology, microbiology, marine biology, Phytochemistry, and photosynthesis.Dr. Grossman's lab has explored areas ranging from identifying new functions associated with photosynthetic processes, the mechanism(s) of coral bleaching and the impact of temperature and light on the bleaching process, metagenomic and genomic diversity among primary producers in hot spring mats, metabolic switching in mat communities (going from oxic to anoxic conditions), the regulation of sulfur metabolism in green algae and plants, the use of nanoelectrodes and atomic force microscopy to probe the structure and dynamics of the photosynthetic apparatus, and pathways for photosynthetic electron flow in photosynthetic microbes in marine and fresh water environments. They have also devoted significant effort toward generating a more thorough analysis of the Chlamydomonas genome and establishing various methods for examining the transcriptome and the function of proteins involved in photosynthesis and acclimation processes.Wollman, Francis-André: - Francis-André Wollman is Director of Institut de Biologie Physico-Chimique (IBPC) in Paris, a research institute dedicated to the life sciences and supported by the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation for the development of scientific research. IBPC's fields of research encompass microbiology, organic biology, structural biology, bioenergetics, membrane biology, molecular interaction modeling, and comparative regulation of gene expression. Wollman is a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) and sits on multiple international science committees, including for CNRS, the Max Planck Society.
