Sandy Gingras's Paradise Girls features a broken engagement. A ruined vacation in paradise. One adorable little girl. The perfect recipe for the chance of a lifetime...
Mary Valley is in a funk. She's a writer for home magazines, but she's lost touch with what home means. Her life seems meaningless. The last house she wrote about was a gazillion-dollar mansion with a moat! Plus, she's estranged from her daughter, CC and granddaughter, Larkin and mired in a dead-end relationship with her boss.
I have a multi-decade career as a writer and illustrator of twenty-five gift books. I've also traditionally published fiction, poetry and narrative non-fiction and designed countless cards for several national stationery companies.
I've created four very successful businesses. In 1992, I created a wholesale stationery business, and I sold my products to over eight hundred retail accounts in the U.S., the Caribbean, England and Australia and online to tens of thousands of individuals. I also started a giftware design company, and I've licensed my artwork to several national companies and designed everything from menus at Red Lobster to wrapping paper for Target. In 2001, I opened a retail store called How to Live to sell my own products, and in in 2010, I opened a second location called How to Live Bayside. The store's interiors are created with local architectural salvage and reclaimed lumber and we sell furniture, gifts, clothing, jewelry and products that I design all with a beachy-simplicity vibe.
My name is nationally known, and I have an established brand which is trademarked. I have been featured in Coastal Living magazine and Where Women Create magazine and my home has been in HGTV magazine.
I have a B.A. from Hamilton College where I graduated Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa. I have an M.A. in English from Duke University and an M.A. from Rider University in Counseling. I've received many awards for my writing including The Crime Writer's Association Debut Dagger Award and a N.J. State Council on the Arts grant.
