Niinikn tahdon kiitoksella mainita, ett rouva Maria af Geijerstam on sallinut minun julkaista otteita Ernst Ahlgrenin kirjailija Gustaf af Geijerstamille kirjoittamista ja ennen julkaisemattomista kirjeist, jotka suuressa mrin valaisevat Ernst Ahlgrenin viimeisi elinvuosia. Niiden monien kirjallisten kykyjen parissa, jotka loivat 1880-luvun realistisen kaunokirjallisuuden Ruotsissa, on Ernst Ahlgrenin nimi, joskaan ei kaikkein loistavimpia, niin joka tapauksessa kaikkein tyypillisimpi.
